For people who think 'out of the box', this so-called-kettle device can actually be used for many purposes. For instance, you can use it as a 'gayung' at the toilet. Or for an engineer specializing in Fluid Mechanics, it can also be used to cool water (instead of boiling it). :)

There are many use of this type of Kettle that I can think of:

1) Timer. Just boil a water and measure the time until you hear the clicking sound of the switch when the water boiled. Based on this time you can make a fixed time timer. Probably good up to few minutes.

2) Door stopper. Fill up the kettle with water and place it on your door to keep it open.

3) Door alarm. Place the kettle with boiled water above a slightly opened door. When someone enter the door the kettle will drop and hot water will spill. The unwanted guest will scream on top of his lung. Guaranteed!

4) Ruler. The side of the kettle looks straight enough to assist you in drawing lines.

5) Measuring length. From the user's manual of this kettle, you may find the dimension of the kettle either in centimeter or inch. Based on this, you can roughly measure the length of anything using the kettle as reference.

There are still many other possibilities of the use this kettle such as musical instrument, artwork, etc. You figure out for yourself how :)

I believe that Indonesian might try to cook "Indomie" in there, and I believe it can do it. Now I just want to believe that no-Indonesian is so desperate to do such thing.
