Prata durian

In terms of roti prata, Singapore has moved a long way since I left in 2001. Now we can have prata with all sorts of flavor: strawberry, cheese and many other. Of course we can still have the classic prata kosong and prata telur.

But then, Singapore’s creativity stops short of inventing the most delicious flavor of all: prata durian. Well, most delicious, that is, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Here is what I have for ifthar yesterday: prata kosong, durian, and hot teh tarik. I thought I could have just bought this in a single stop, but no, I still have to buy the prata and the durian separately.

Prata Durian

In case you are curious, I first have prata durian (or canai durian, as they call it there) more than 15 years ago in the village of Geudong in my hometown Aceh. Since I cannot buy prata durian any place else, this is what I have come up with: buy durian and buy prata, there you have it. Yummmy.

If Moses had gotten the Ten Commandments on a floppy disk, it would never have made it to today. (Dag Spicer, curator of the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley, The NYTimes Circuit, 26-Mar-2009)

Setelah empat belas hari menunggu, akhirnya saya bisa menikmati kembali berita-berita dari Bandung. Harian PR tampil dengan wajah baru dengan koneksi yang tampaknya lebih kencang.
